This false rumour has reached a lot of people and is creating a big commotion on the Iraqi Dinar. Allegedly, they say that your 1000 Iraqi Dinar that is equivalent to 1 US dollar today would be equivalent into 1000 US dollars after a couple of weeks. The rumour started when the central bank of Iraq decided to drop the zeroes out of the old Iraqi Dinar bills. The old 1000 Iraqi Dinar which equals to 1 US dollar would be reprinted as 1 Iraqi Dinar. Now this made some people believed that 1000 Iraqi Dinar would equal to 1000 US dollars. This would only be true if the 1000 Iraqi Dinar is the form of the new bill. An old 1000 Iraqi Dinar bill would still be equivalent to 1 US dollar in the future.
